Climate change management plans
Our experts can assist you in developing formal plans for managing climate change associated risks. Depending on your needs, these may be comprehensive or focused on specific areas of concern.
Management plans generally start with a detailed risk analysis. This identifies specific exposures threatening the people, communities, or institutions in your stewardship, and assesses the likelihood of occurrence for each exposure. Examples include damage from increased storm intensity, replacement costs for drought-induced water shortages, loss of livelihood from structural changes to the local economy, loss of traditional sources of tax revenue as businesses/inhabitants migrate, and increased illness from disease migration. To this end we bring together information developed by the international research community, our own expertise, and the knowledge and information on-hand within your organization.
We work with you to prioritize each risk for the purpose of resource allocation, and recommend a set of specific actions designed to prepare for climate change. Recommendations are organized into a set of medium-term (1-10 year) and long-term (10-30 year) plans that include estimates of resources required for their achievement.
We also are available to assist you in managing the implementation of your climate change preparation program.
